Jesse McCartney est un acteur et chanteur de pop né le 9 avril 1987 à Westchester/New York (États-Unis) .

Jesse McCartney, comme son nom de famille pourrait le laisser supposer, ne fait pas partie de la famille de Paul McCartney. Surnommé J-Mac ou Jester ou encore tout simplement Jesse par ses amis et ses nombreux fans, est né à New York en 1987. Il est l'aîné d'une famille de trois enfants. Il débute très tôt dans le milieu artistique en jouant dans des pièces de théâtres et des comédies musicales comme « Oliver » ou « Le Roi et moi » à partir de 1997. Il obtient son premier rôle à la télévision dans le soap « All my children » en 1996. Il y tient le rôle de Adam Chandler Jr jusqu'en 2001.

Parallèlement à ses débuts d'acteur, Jesse démarre une carrière musicale. Il débute dans un boys band appelé Sugar Beats. Ils ont même été nominés pour un Grammy award (Victoire de la musique américaine).

A la fin de All my children, Jesse passe un casting pour rejoindre un nouveau boys band, Dream Street. Il est choisi parmi 1 candidats pour être le seul membres du groupe. Il en est le plus jeune. Les Dream Street accompagneront sur son Onyx Tour. Le groupe se sépare en 2001 à la suite de divergences avec leurs producteurs.

Jesse contacte alors les anciennes productrices des Suger Beats et se lance dans une carrière solo. Il participe à des bandes originales de film, "comme cendrillon" (avec Hilary Duff et Chad Michael Murray) en 2003 ou encore «un mariage de princesse » et « Ella au pays enchanté » tous deux avec Anne Hathaway en 2003. Il fait même un duo avec l'actrice sur une reprise d'Elton John, « Don't go breaking my heart ».

Son premier maxi-CD, appelé « JMac » sort en juillet 2003. Quelques mois plus tard suit l'album « Beautiful Soul », en février 2004, suivi d'une tournée en janvier 2004. La chanson titre, sortie en single le 14 février 2005, devient un gros succès aux USA. Le même mois, son album est récompensé disque de platine.

Ses débuts dans la chanson n'entamment pas son amour pour la comédie. En 2004, Jesse est retenu pour jouer le rôle de Bradin Westerly dans une nouvelle série télévisée, « Summerland » avec Lori Loughlin. Le show durera deux saisons avant de s'arrêter fin 2005.

Fraîchement diplômé du lycée de New York, Jesse peut maintenant se consacrer à un nouveau défi : le cinéma. En 2007, il fait ses débuts sur grand écran dans « Keith » de Todd Kessler.

Son dernier album "Right Where You Want Me" est sorti le 19 septembre 2006 aux USA ( le 24 mars 2007 en France). Le premier single issu de l'album s'intitule "Right Where You Want Me". Le second, est "Just so you know", ballade rock très accrocheuse.
